Then you need to know that it is your Windows Defender antivirus that is trying to protect your system from a potentially malicious download actually. Well, you most likely have virus scanning software installed that is preventing the file from downloading actually.

Double-check each and everything to make sure that you are downloading the file from a reliable source. Well, in my case, I was attempting to download Android SDK Tools from the official Android website. Whenever I received malware and antivirus warnings as well.

If you guys are sure that the file you are downloading is safe and want to proceed. Then you will have to set an exception in your anti-virus software in order to allow the download to proceed.

Most of the Microsoft Windows users will have Windows Defender installed and will need to allow the download with these steps actually.

  • First, choose “Start“, type “Defender“, then select the “Windows Defender” option, then choose the “History” tab.
  • Then select the radio button for “All detected items“ as well.
  • You have to check the false-positive item that was detected.
  • Then choose “Allow item“.

You may have another anti-virus application that is running on the computer that is preventing the download. You guys will need to set that particular anti-virus application in order to allow the file to download.
