Then you must know that it won’t print unless the printer is online. So, Usually, this will just involve turning on your printer and also waiting a few seconds. Sadly, this does not happen all the time. Apart from the printer, this will remain in offline status. This is even though this if your printer is on and also connects to your computer or the network. Steps To Fix If Printer Stuck:

Having a lot of times that will also fix the problem. You can also turn off your printer and then turn off your computer. Then you can also turn on your computer and then see if the printer is still showing up offline or not. You just have to make sure that the printer is fully turn off. This is not just in the power-saving mode. In case, if you are not sure. Now, the best thing is to do and also to unplug the printer completely that is for about 30 seconds.

Step 2: To Use Printer Software If Printer Stuck

In case, if your printer is still showing offline. So, you can also try to use the printer software so that it will also come with your printer. Now, These printer utilities will usually detect the printer available on the network. Then fix any issues that are also causing the printer to appear offline.

Then go to the Dell drivers and downloads page. You can also search for your printer and then download the printer application.

Step 4: To Run the Troubleshooter:

In case, if the problem is with the Windows printing subsystem. So, the running system of the troubleshooter might help. Then You can also run the troubleshooter just by following the steps in Step 2. You have to get to the Manage your device screen that is for the printer. When there it is you will also see the Run the troubleshooter link. Then Click on that and it will check the spooler service, the network settings, etc. Also, The troubleshooter usually works if the problem is related to Windows.

Step 5: Check Printer Port:

In case, if nothing has worked till now. So, the problem is also probably related to the port configuration. Also, This will most likely only apply to a networked printer. This also has an IP address. So, The most likely cause is that the IP address of the printer has changed. Now, the port configuration still points to the old IP address.

The very First thing is that you can also find out the IP address for your printer by printing out a network configuration page. When you have the IP address, then go to Control Panel, Devices, and Printers and right-click on the printer. You just have to make sure to select Printer Properties, also not Properties at the bottom.

Then Click on the Ports tab and then scroll down the list. So, you will see the one port that is checked. Now, select it and then click on the Configure Port. Using This dialog box will also tell you the current IP address. Now, this will also think about the printer has. In case, if the IP address of the printer is different than the one listed here. So, this is your problem. You can simply update the IP address here and you should be good to go.

In case, if you get any kind of error, that is like the one shown below. If you try to configure the port, then it is probably just because of this it is configured as a WSD port.

An error occurred during port configuration. This operating is not supported.

The WSD port, which stands for Web Services for Devices. This is an automatically configured port that you cannot edit. In case, if you can’t connect to your printer, then you have to add a new TCP/IP port (via Add Port button). Also, the other less technical option is to follow step 6. That has to delete the printer and then re-add it. So, thereby automatically using the new IP address.

Step 6: Remove and Re-Add Printer

In case, if you can’t get the printer working yet, then your best option might be to remove it and then re-install it. If Windows will also install a printer, so it will also detect it. Then check all the settings, and then make sure the driver for the printer is installed properly.

So, You can also remove the printer just by going to Control Panel, Devices, and Printers, right-clicking on the printer. Then by choosing Remove Device. This is also a good idea to restart the computer when before you reinstall the printer. You have to note that this will also not remove the driver for the printer from your system. In case, if there is some issue with the driver, follow Step 7.

When you have restarted this, then click on Add Printer and Windows. So, this should automatically detect the printer that will connect locally on connected to your network.

Step 7 – To Reinstall Printer Driver:

Most of the time if the issue can also be associated with the current print driver. In case, if this is the case, then you should also download the latest driver that is for your printer from the manufacturer’s website. Although before you do that, then it is also a good idea to remove the current print driver.
