Before proceeding further, let’s first clean your computer of leftover drivers. That haven’t been completely uninstalled and may also be conflicting (or might do so) with the new drivers. So, you have to do this:

  • First of all, disconnect your phone from your PC.
  • Then uninstall any previous drivers that is installed for your phone on your PC.
  • At last, reboot your computer.

Installing the drivers through this method should work in 99% of cases, if not, then refer to the next method. This involves drivers only installation actually, and the next method involves installing drivers through Samsung’s Kies software.


  • You have to download the driver setup file from the link above.
  • Double-click or run the setup file on your Windows PC and then begin the driver’s installation.
  • (Optional) when you finish it, then reboot your PC.
  • Now connect your device to PC, it should be recognized well in all modes — MTP, ADB, and Download mode.


You need to install Kies — Samsung’s own software to manage your phone on your PC. It will install the proper drivers for your phone actually.

  • Connect your device to your computer.
  • Download and then install Samsung Kies 3 → Download link
    If it asks to download additional files while installing, then let it do that.
  • When you finish the installation, your Samsung device should now work on the Computer.

If drivers are still a problem, then do the following in Kies:

  • Open Kies 3 that you just installed above.
  • Then head to “Tools” and now choose the “Reinstall device driver” option.
  • On the pop-up window, you need to click on “Reinstall” button.
  • Choose “Yes” on the next pop-up screen in order to allow installation of the driver
